Current Events (Set 2) 1. “New View of Ancient Ground: Subterranean 3-D Mapping Reveals Hidden Sites at Stonehenge.” Still unanswered question of use: temple? parliament? graveyard? or how Neolithic bluestones got there. 2,700 BC… Stonehenge is located on Salisbury Plain in England; stones (4-8 tons) came from Wales 170 miles away

Current Events #2 2. “Baltimore Ravens Cut Ray Rice: First NFL Player Banned Indefinitely Due to Domestic Abuse.” Suspended by the league; his contract was terminated after video released of him punching his then, fiancé. The NFL & team claim they had not seen the full elevator video till now. TMZ said they never asked

Current Event #3 3. “Canada Finds British Ships that Vanished on Doomed Search for Northwest Passage in 1845.” Royal Navy vessels sank in ice-filled Arctic waters searching for legendary link between Atlantic & Pacific. Victoria Strait, King William Island HMS Erebus and HMS Terror (128 sailors) were under the command of Sir John Franklin Last seen by the Inuit, legend says the sailors resorted to cannibalism after being ice-locked

Current Event #4 4. “Bell Toll & Moment of Silence, Commemorate 13th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks on Patriot Day.” Never forget: the nation remembers victims, as names are read aloud in New York, DC, and Pennsylvania. 1776’ Freedom Tower 8:46 am EST 2,977 people died at the Pentagon, Ground Zero New York, and FLT 93 Pennsylvania Ground Zero is now The World Trade Center and the National September 11th Memorial and Museum.

Current Event #5 5. “TerraCotta Daughters: Artist Creates Female Figures to Address Gender Imbalance in China.” Cultural preferences for boys and one-child policy has created a surplus of men and gender discrimination. After the exhibition they will be buried in China until 2030; there are 8 models & 108 permutations
