  16. Section 4: Life in the Colonies:What are the Big Ideas? Religious revival movement that promoted both spiritual and political equality. Preachers encouraged Colonists to question authority, think for themselves and demand more freedoms. Colonists are forbiddenby King and Parliament from tradingwith any country except England. Colonists begin smugglinggoods in order to buy or sell at the best price. 2 1 English Trade Laws: The Navigation Acts The Great Awakening Conflict between Englandand France and its Indian allies over the colonists settlements in the WesternFrontier.
