Petition and social media campaign seeks to lift prohibition that is part of gender based laws. Saturday’s protest was the 3rd of its kind since 1990 when women were arrested or lost their jobs

Current Event #2 • 2. “Ellis Island Museum Reopens Doors One year After Superstorm Sandy Flood Damage Closed the Monument.” • Millions of immigrants entered through New York Harbor; $77 million to reopen both Liberty and Ellis Islands. Ellis Island Liberty Island 12 million immigrants were processed at Ellis Island between 1892 and 1954 Immigrants had to answer 29 questions to gain citizenship. (11,747 per day at peak)
