  1. Chamonix outcome – LIU-SPS B.Goddard

  2. From HL-LHC and LIU • Little ‘wiggle-room’ for HL-LHC in the parameter space • Lower emittance generally good, except IBS... • 25 ns preferred but 50 ns has to be kept as serious alternative • LIU cannot meet HL-LHC targets in baseline (after LS2) • All upgrades need to bring required benefit • Need stretched performance goals – losses/emittance preservation, PS space charge limit, SPS space charge limit, SP longitudinal stability. Assumed after LS3 - LIU++?

  5. Planning and project baseline • Planning for aC coating to maintain as baseline • Do we need to review LS2 plans soon? Logistics, WS, ... • Need serious plan for LS2 and restart afterwards • Duration and interdependencies of LS2 work to define in detail • Beam commissioning of the 3 machines - staggered?

  6. Some thoughts for SPS • ZS sparking limitations – priorities and plans for 2012 MDs • Differential pumping at TIDVG – MKP: plans? • Longer bunches to LHC – 2012 studies? Could be crucial and should be pushed • Extra extraction kickers possible in some of neutrino scenarios – impedance? • Where are we with overall impedance estimates?

  7. Other reactions?
