LRSD Professional Development Updates 2013-2014: Administrator Testing and Training Overview

This document provides an overview of the LRSD professional development activities conducted from 2013 to 2014.   1. Professional Development Updates 2013-2014 Dr. Lloyd Sain Shoutell Richardson

  2. Initial Testing – FFTPS- FOCUS • To date, 1195 administrators have tested. • Forty-three (43% ) have attained Proficiency status at this time. • Seven (7%) is still in progress. • Four (4%) via 5 people were not proficient on the initial assessment.

  3. Retesting in FOCUS/FFTPS • 121 administrators had to retest and/or are working on retesting • 59% of those who need to retest have begun retest process with 44% of those who have retested scoring proficient. • 4% of the retest administrators will no longer be able to assess under the initial email account.

  4. LRSD Celebrations !!! • Of the 100 registered administrators in FFTPS, we have 63 Administrators 28 principals, 33 assistant principals, and 2 central office administrators who have successfully passed both Stages. 37 Remaining principals and assistant principals are currently engaged and will have until October 1st (LRSD) and December 31st(ADE)

Convocation Schedule • August 12, 2013 • Parkview Magnet High School Auditorium • 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Elementary Schools • 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Middle Schools • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon – High Schools • 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Support Staff from Schools • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Support Staff from Central Offices

Using the Individual PD Tab • School-based team professional development activity. • School-based collaboration via an authentic professional development activity. • School-based departmental professional development activity. • Other non-LRSD PD activities (except as listed above) that are authentic PD.

SIG Schools Leaders Must attend the one-day Teacher Evaluation Training sponsored by ADE August 6, 2013 or September 10, 2013 Holiday Inn Airport - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. All other school leaders are currently not required to attend this one-day training given we have received a teacher evaluation (PTAS) waiver.

  9. Beginning Administrators • Beginning (first-year) Administrators to include Curriculum/Program Administrator must participate in ADE’s Beginning Administrators Induction Program. • July 29 thru July 31 – Marriott Hotel/Statehouse Convention Mentor and BA attend specific training. 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Beginning Administrator attends 6 hours of approved training starting July 29th thru 31st. • September 16 (alternate date)
