  3. COUNSELOR RESPONSIBLITIES We provide academic, social and emotional support We ensure enrollment in all graduation requirements. Summary in Instructional Guide on the Drake website. We support student as they make post-secondary plans

  4. FROSH YEAR SERVICES Classroom presentations on counselor role, definition of success, getting involved and goal setting Conference with student. Opportunity to get to know student & find out how we can best support her/him Individual meetings at student request - short term personal counseling Parent/student conferences - upon request Referral source - long term counseling, etc.

  5. ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES Bay Area Community Resources Peer Resource & Link Crew After School Tutoring (TBA) Peer Mentors in SLC’s Tutors - Peer and Adult (lists in counseling office) Advisory/Tutorial

  7. PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES Over-scheduling & over-doing are common concerns Sit with your child & discuss priorities Say “NO” for them when you know they are overscheduled

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR STUDENT’S COUNSELOR • STUDENTS: • Drop in to our office • Leave a note in counselor’s box for appointment or pass • Counselors leave a portion of their day open for student drop-ins & emergencies • PARENTS: • Call or E-mail • Make an appointment. We would like to be prepared and have ample time to address your concerns, so please arrange this in advance.

Email homeaccess@tamdistrict.org • Assignment information • Report card grades • Student attendance • Student schedules • Please check individual teacher policies for those teachers not using Home Access for assignment or grade information
