  6. BRAC AnnouncementMay 2005 • BRAC Recommendations for Fort Bliss • Personnel at Fort Bliss will increase by 11,354 military and 147 civilians. • Fort Bliss was listed as the U.S. Army’s most important post based upon military value.

Fort Bliss Construction New construction is estimated at $2.5 Billion - 1 July 05--$20-$25M for ORTC Barracks - 6 Aug 05-- $3M for Tactical Equipment Shop - Fall 05-- $15M Security Dormitory for DHS - 2006– Design & Build for Barracks, Mess Halls, Battalion Headquarters, Company Headquarters, Storage, & Maintenance Shops

Conclusion • Fort Bliss will experience tremendous growth over the next five years. • The post will transform from a School-House TRADOC installation to a war-fight/maneuver FORSCOM installation. • Fort Bliss growth will generate corresponding growth, job market and economic expansion for the city of El Paso. ** Fort Bliss growth will have a direct impact on the future economic growth of the city of El Paso.**
