  1. IF IT’S NOT A BABY, YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT! What Does God Say About Life? Is Abortion Biblically Okay? When Did Your Life Begin?

  2. GENESIS 1:27 • So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

  3. EXODUS 20:13 • Thou shalt not kill!

  4. EXODUS 21:22,23 • If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life.

  5. PSALM 139:13-16 • For thou hast possessed my reins (formed my inward parts, NASB; created my inmost being, NIV): thou hast covered me (knit me together, NIV; didst weave me, NASB) in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right

  6. PSALM 139:13-16 • well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

  7. PROVERBS 24:11,12 • If thou forebear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

  8. JEREMIAH 1:4,5 • Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

  9. PROVERBS 31:8,9 • Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. (KJV) • Open your mouth for the dumb, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. (NAS)

  10. ISAIAH 44:24,25 • Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That frustrateth the tokens of liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish.

  11. ISAIAH 49:1 • Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

  12. JOB 33:4 • The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

  13. LUKE 1:15 • For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. (referring to John the Baptist)

  14. GALATIANS 1:15 • But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen…. (referring to the apostle Paul)

  15. 1 THESSALONIANS 2:11,12 • As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

  16. MORAL RELATIVISM • The idea that “I have my truth and you have your truth” reigns in western culture. • Abortion advocates claim that “a woman has a right to control her own body and abort ‘unwanted tissue’.” This is one aspect of MORAL RELATIVISM. • Another aspect of MORAL RELATIVISM is homosexuality. But what does the Bible say.

  17. MORAL RELATIVISM: HOMOSEXUAL ITY IS AN ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE • WHAT DOES THE GOD OF THE BIBLE SAY? • Genesis 13:13, Homosexuality is sin and wickedness! • Genesis 18:20, Homosexuality is grievous sin! • Genesis 19:7, Homosexuality is wicked!

  18. Leviticus 18:22, Homosexuality is an abomination. • Deuteronomy 23:17-18, Homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord of Hosts. • 1 Kings 14:24, Homosexuality(sodomy) is an abomination. • Romans 1:24, Homosexuality dishonors your own body. • Romans1:26, Lesbianism is a “vile affection.

  19. Lesbianism “...is against nature.” • Romans 1:27, Homosexuality is unseemly • Romans 1:28, Homosexuality is the fruit of a “reprobate mind.” • 1 Cor. 6:9, Effeminate (“male prostitutes” NIV) and abusers of them- selves with mankind (homosexuals NAS) “shall not inherit the kingdom of God”

  20. 2 CORINTHIANS 6:3 • Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed (discredited, NASB): But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necess- ities, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;...

  21. PHILIPPIANS 1:27 • Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

  22. PHILIPPIANS 2:15,16a • That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ….

  23. COLOSSIANS 1:10 • That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing (to please him in all respects, NASB), being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

  24. 1 CORINTHIANS 15:58 • Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

  25. GALATIANS 6:9,10 • And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not, as we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.

  26. II CORINTHIANS 4:1,2 • Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

  27. JOHN 7:6,7 • Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

  28. 2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 • For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

  29. THE CASE OF ESTHER • THE SITUATION: • King Ahasuarus (Xerxes) is hosting a banquet as a prelude to his invasion of Greece in about 483 B.C. • The king and his generals have had too much OH to drink. The king orders his beautiful wife, Vashti, to parade in front of his party. She refuses and is deposed.

  30. THE CASE OF ESTHER • The king needs a new queen. • Babylon is searched for a new queen. • Esther, in the providence of the Lord, is chosen to be the new queen. • THE ARCH- VILLAIN, Haman, appears • Haman gets the king to sign a decree that all the Jewish people will be killed.

  31. THE CASE OF ESTHER • Esther does not know that the Jewish people are under the decree of death. • Mordecai, the cousin who raised Esther, sends word to Esther that her people are to be annihilated. • Mordecai begs Esther to go in to the king and plead for the lives of her people. • Esther 4:8

  32. ESTHER’S FIRST RESPONSE • “All the King’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days. Esther 4:11

  33. ESTHER’S FIRST RESPONSE • I LIKE MY LIFE STYLE AND MY PALACE LIVING; THEREFORE I WILL NOT GO IN TO THE KING! • I AM LIVING FOR THE BENEFIT OF MYSELF REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PEOPLE! • MORDECAI, I WON’T GO IN TO THE KING TO SAVE MY PEOPLE!

  34. MORDECAI’S REPLY: • “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this? 4:13,14 NAS

  35. “Oh Esther, please, please, you’ve got to do this to save our people!” • This is not what Mordecai said! • He said, “Esther, let’s get something straight. God is going to get his work done. Now He will either go through you or He will go around you, but He will get His work done. Esther, do you want to make God go around you or will you let Him work through you?”

  36. ESTHER’S 2nd RESPONSE • “I have decided to obey the call of my Lord on my life and to live for the benefit of others regardless of what happens to me!” • “I am willing to sacrifice my palace lifestyle, indeed even my very life if need be, to live for the benefit of my people!”

  37. ESTHER’S 2nd RESPONSE • “Go, assemble all the Jew’s who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day: I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16 • WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSE BE?

  38. WILL YOUR RESPONSE BE: • Whether I live or die, I exist for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ! • To obey God is more important than to save my own life! • I obey God’s Word no matter what the cost, the circumstance or the consequence!

  39. WILL YOU JOIN THE LORD JESUS AND PRAY: • Oh, Heavenly Father, not my will, but thy will be done!”
