Major re-engineering of FedNor, 1995-96 Major consultations/conference with stakeholders led to movement away from direct support for business to more support for community-based initiatives Citizen Engagement Process, 2002 Series of regional consultations Northern Ontario Citizen Engagement Forum Led to an Action Plan to pursue economic prosperity and increased opportunities for youth Major Stakeholder Consultations

  4. Focused consultations conducted as required Related to particular issue, economic sectors or target populations Assist in consideration of new programming or development approaches Examples: Tourism Aboriginal people Access to Capital Official Languages Minority Communities (francophones) Youth Ad-Hoc Focused Consultations

  5. Minister consults with local stakeholders when on tour Holds roundtable sessions to gain insight into community or stakeholder issues and feedback on effectiveness of programs Minister Consultations

  6. Client feedback a key tool in assessing FedNor programs Participation includes: Case studies In depth interviews with outside experts Client surveys Stakeholder participation on evaluation steering committees Evaluations

  7. Collection of data from clients on how to improve service, 2002 Implement process to enhance service to clients Second survey indicated improved service, 2005 Service Improvement

  8. Community Futures Development Corporations are governed by local volunteer boards who develop strategic plans and approve all investments Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporations and seven CFDC regional networks Identify and advocate CFDC needs to FedNor Share information and best practices FedNor staff involvement Attend CFDC board of directors meetings, network meetings and provincial & national conferences Community Futures
