  4. Essay proposal due Nov. 12 • Proposal, one short page • Choose your topic outline your proposed essay in one paragraph. State your hypothesis (a thesis that is not yet proven) and how you plan to go about testing it. • Include an annotatedbibliography of at least two items, describing in one or two sentences for each how it relates to the objectives of your project.

  7. “ Limited number of well-chosen resources” • Read and cite in your essay three to five scholarly works, including: • One or more books or book chapters. …from books on reserve for FPA 111 at the Belzberg Library…any book in the Arts sections of the Belzberg or Bennett libraries (SFU Burnaby)…electronic books available through SFU Library. • One or more of the articles in the FPA 111 syllabus. • Optional: one scholarly article, in print or through SFU online databases. • If you must search online outside SFU’s scholarly databases (Wikipedia, blogs, etc.), you must cite all the online resources you consulted, even if they do not appear in your essay. • Include footnotes and a properly formatted bibliography in Chicago or MLA style
