Collective Agreement Article 29: Assessment and Evaluation of Teaching 29.1 This article applies to the assessment and evaluation of teaching for • Annual Performance Review • Renewal • Tenure • Continuing Appointment • Reappointment • Promotion 29.6Any member whose teaching performance is being reviewed has the right to submit any information he/she believes to be relevant to the review, including a Teaching Dossier. 29.7 Teaching Dossiers are intended to provide a description of a Member’s major teaching accomplishments and strengths in a manner that conveys the scope and quality of the individual’s teaching. Responsibility for gathering and collecting the evidence for the dossier is the member’s. c o l l a b o r a t i v e • r e s p o n s i v e • p r a g m a t i c

The Teaching Dossier • Statement of teaching philosophy, goals and preferred practices. • Short descriptions of responsibilities, activities and achievements. • Multiple sources of evidence to support claims of effectiveness. • 6-12 pages • Reflective, selective • A means of documenting teaching for performance review purposes • AND an excellent tool for developing and improving teaching c o l l a b o r a t i v e • r e s p o n s i v e • p r a g m a t i c
