  7. New members of JWG (IUPAC-IUPAP) • The members from IUPAP are: Graziano Fortuna (Italy), Bradley Sherrill (USA), and Toshimitsu Yamazaki (Japan) (They were recommended at 2008 from C12 to IUPAP!) • The members from IUPAC are: Paul Karol (USA) (Chair of JWG), Emanuele Vardaci (Italy), and Robert Barber (Canada).

  8. Promotion of female physicists Subject: C12 IUPAP Conference Endorsement: The Electromagnetic Isotope Separators and Techniques Related to their Applications (16th EMIS 2012) From: Rudzani Nemutudi <rudzi@tlabs.ac.za> To: sakurai@ribf.riken.jp, Dan-Olof.Riska@Helsinki.Fi, hidesakai@riken.jp, williamina.Lazaro@iop.org, Admin.IUPAP@iop.org, rudzi@tlabs.ac.za Date: Mon, 21 Nov 2011 11:43:42 +0200 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20111105 Thunderbird/8.0 Dear Professor Sakurai We would like to inform you that at its recent meeting held in London, the IUPAP Council has approved for endorsement under Category C your application for IUPAP support for the Electromagnetic Isotope Separators and Techniques Related to their Applications (16th EMIS 2012) scheduled to be held in Kanto, Japan on 21 - 26 October 2012. Please note that conferences under Category C only receive IUPAP endorsement without financial sponsorship. If you have not already done so, you are kindly requested to submit to the IUPAP secretariat a list of women who will be participating in your conference both in the organizing committees and as invited speakers at conference sessions. The submitted list should also include the total number of invited conference speakers. Please note that submission of such statistics is necessary in order for us to do a global assessment of the participation of women at events supported by the IUPAP. You will in due course receive formal correspondence from the IUPAP administrator Ms Williamina Lazaro (Williamina.Lazaro@iop.org). We wish you in advance a successful conference event. With kindest regards Rudzani Nemutudi (Associate Secretary General: IUPAP) Female ratio: > 20% This is true for ARIS when IUPAP sponsorship was requested.
