Community Integration Now • Can be used to train administration staff together with stakeholders (consumers, family members, community providers). • Road-tested in 9 states and Puerto Rico. • Based on a train-the-trainer model: • Instructor’s Manual with handouts • Participant’s Guide • PowerPoint presentation on CD

  4. Technical Assistance Possibilities • Training for stakeholders to increase effective participation. • Training for staff and stakeholders to inform both and allow interactive discussions. • Follow-up technical assistance (e.g., working with a coalition).

  5. Topics for Joint Training • Introduction to community integration • Core values and promising practices of a consumer-centered behavioral health system. • Elements of a community integration plan • Strategies for developing community supports • Ideals for stakeholder participation • Coalition-building (barriers & strategies) • Group negotiation exercise

  6. Structure of Curriculum • Short lectures providing general overview, supported by detailed written materials. • Individual and group activities • Opportunities for interaction and feedback

  7. Community Support Strategies • Housing • Employment and entitlements • Behavioral and physical health care • Peer supports and natural supports • Transportation

  8. Requesting Technical Assistance • The Community Integration Now curriculum can be requested by completing a technical assistance request form. • AHP and the Clearinghouse can help to define an audience and target the presentation to your state’s needs.
