  6. One-off Performance: 30% Top Tip: Work hard over the year on your performance. It can change your mark from an A to a C COMPLEX skill repertoire. Control & Fluency whilst responding to DEMANDING challenges. Able to anticipate decisions QUICKLY Display CONSISTENT adherence to the rules and demo EXEMPLARY etiquette

  7. Project: 70% of final grade Top Tip: Section 1 and 2 are the most time consuming. Work hard from now until Dec and the project is manageable.

  8. Section 1 - Project proposal Top Tip: Use last year’s Higher Data collection booklet to give you ideas Select 2 factors which impact on your performance - Consider all factors 1. Gather information about performance in relation to the topic (Data collection and testing) 10 marks 2. Analyse the results of investigations to identify focus for research into performance development (What do your results tell you ??) 12 marks

  9. Section 2 - Research Top Tip: Always use your reading diary to keep notes on journals you have read. This also helps when writing your reference section. Carry out a literature review to gather information about the research focus 10 marks Analyse the information to inform your PDP targets 10 marks Set and Justify PDP targets 6marks

  10. PDP record Top Tip: As long as you keep a detailed note of your PDP this section is easy. 1. Record your implementation of a PDP – 4marks (Include session plan / practice overviews / training diaries / log books Considering principles of effective practice / training etc) This is when you apply your knowledge of developing the factors from Higher PE – you should have a good understanding about how you are going to do this

  11. Section 4 – Post-PDP analysis & evaluation Top Tip: Carrying out your PDP will see improvements in your tests. This makes it a lot easier to analyse and evaluate Analyse post-PDP data - 8marks Evaluate of the PDP - 6marks Identify and justify future development needs - 4 marks

Maggie.Duncan@balernochs.edin.sch.uk You will be given 3 drafts of each section and I will use comments on documents to provide reasonable feedback Deadlines will be strictly kept to.

  15. Helpful links - sites http://believeperform.com/ https://www.brianmac.co.uk/eval.htm @humankineticsEU @believePHQ These are great sites but always think about their CREDIBILITY (Bias, age, who, what, when, how – begin to be analytical)
