What’s the Problem? • Responses to requests for information about business systems were not being captured in a way that was easily accessible or retrievable later. • Each time the same question was asked the search for the answer would have to start over • No way to effectively document and retain institutional knowledge

  4. So What’s a Wiki? • A wiki is a type of website—like Wikipedia—that lets anyone create and edit its pages. The word is Internet slang. The word Wiki is short for WikiWikiWeb. Wikiwiki is a word from Hawaiian, meaning "fast" or "speed".

  5. Wiki Advantages • Do it yourself web site – no web master required • It’s free; IT is hosting site • LDAP protected • Updates are quick and easy • Can upload documents and/or link to other web materials • Accessible from the OCFO/BSA web site • Search feature available
