  1. Avant, avant de et après… You thought you knew it “before”… but “after” it’s said and done… you’ve got a better understanding!

  2. Avant… • Pour exprimer qu’un action est premier… ou « before » un autre action, vous utilisez… « avant ». • Utilisez « avant » quand vous avez un sujet dans la première partie de la phrase etdans la deuxième partie de la phrase aussi!

  3. Les exemples… • Je me lave la figure avantje me maquille. • Elle va se préparer avantj’arrive. • Nous nous levons du lit avantnous nous habillons. I washmy face before I put on make-up.

  4. Avant de… • Utilisez « avant de »quand vous parlez d’un action qui est suivi (followed) par un verbePAS conjugué. • Je me brosse les dents avant d’habiller. • Le verbe infinitif a un traduction de « ing ».

  5. Les exemples… • Je me lave les mains avant demanger. • Tu vas t’ habiller avant de partir pour l’école. • Vous vous réveillez avant d’allerau travail. I washmy hands beforeeating.

  6. Après… • Pour parler du deuxièmeaction dans une séquence, ou l’action qui est « AFTER » un autre action, utilisez… « après » • Aprèspeut-être suivi (followed) par un deuxième sujet OU un verbe infinitif.

  7. Les exemples… Sujet #1 Sujet #2 • Je me couche aprèsje me mets en pyjamas. • Elle va se brosser les dents aprèsmanger. I go to bedafterI put on pyjamas. Sujet #1 Verbe infinitif Sheisgoing to brushherteethaftereating.
