2. The Houses on Mango Street *Callie and Esperanza live in a red house. Callie’s neighbor is Joe the Baby Grabber. *Benny and Blanca own the corner store. *Across the street are two raggedy girls. *Next door is Edna’s building.

3. The House on Mango Street (Esperanza’s house) • Red house with tight steps. There are bricks crumbling in places and the front door is swollen shut so pushing hard is the only way to get inside. There is no front yard. And there is a small garage in the back. Only one washroom inside. Regular hallway stairs and not many rooms so rooms have to be shared.

4. The Corner Store Owned by Benny and Blanca Located on the corner. The owners are alright but no leaning on the candy counter.

5. Where the two raggedy girls live Live across the street from Esperanza. Two raggedy girls live there that Callie says that Esperanza does not want to know them.

6. Edna’s building (right next to Esperanza’s house Edna’s mother used to own a giant building and she did not want her children to sell it. But when Edna’s mother passed away, Edna’s brother sold it.

7. Alicia, Joe the Baby Grabber, Callie, and Esperanza They all live in the red house. It is like an apartment building but a little smaller.
