  1. Article VI Erik Leff, Adina Cosden, Fan Tang, Katrina Yee, and Molly Greenstone

  2. The Main Idea of the Article • Debts from before the creation of the Constitution will still be valid under the Constitution. • All states must abide by national laws and treaties. • Religion does not impact qualifications of an officer or executive.

  3. The Most Important Section/Clause The Second Clause, also known as the Supremacy Law, is the most important because it attempts to create unity between the states after the American Revolution.

  4. Constitutional Principles • "all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation” • Shows Federalism because the Oath declares the President of the United States the head of the Executive branch.  • "...shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding” • Shows Separation of Power because the Executive Branch is forced to contain its power through the the Judiciary Branch to see if the law is constitutional.
