  2. THE BRIDGE.... MUST SPAN 30 CM AND BE NO LONGER THAN 40 cm BE 5 CM ACROSS (WIDE) BE ABLE TO HAVE A WEIGHT HOOKED OVER THE CENTER INCLUDE AT LEAST 1 TYPE OF BRIDGE CANNOT HAVE PILLARS Height cannot exceed 1/3 of length ANYTHING ELSE??

  4. Accountant • ACCOUNTANT MUST FILL OUT THE FOLLOWING CHART (SEE WORKSHEET) • ESTIMATED VALUES • ACTUAL VALUES • RETURNS Budget is 110 000 (10 x $10 000, 10 x $1 000) TAXES KEEP TRACK OF $ (IF YOU LOSE IT, IT’S GONE FOR GOOD!) FOR EVERY 10 000$, 1 BONUS POINT WILL BE GIVEN WORK ON VIDEO/BLOG??

Artist • COMPLETES THE MAIN DESIGN • ALTHOUGH EACH STUDENT ALSO MUST COMPLETE A DRAWING ON THEIR WORKSHEET • THE DRAWING MUST BE HANDED IN, LABELLED, DETAILED, HAVE MEASUREMENTS AND INCLUDE GROUP IDEAS FOR POSSIBLE CHANGES • THE ARTIST WILL ALSO HELP/OVERSEE BUILDING and make sure it FOLLOWS THE DESIGN

  6. Builder BUILDS THE BRIDGE (ARTIST HELPS WITH THIS PART TOO). OTHER TEAM MEMBERS ARE ALSO A PART OF THIS BY GETTING THE BUILDER MATERIALS, HOLDS THINGS, HELPS GLUE ETC.

  7. Project Manager • OVERSEES ALL OTHER WORKERS • SHOULD BE ORGANIZED AND ON TASK!!! • TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY SHOULD BE DOING • IF GROUP IS OFF TRACK, THE MANAGER GETS PPL BACK ON TRACK (OTHERWISE FINES ARE GIVEN) • BLOGS/WORKS ON VIDEO! (ARTIST/ACCOUNTANT CAN HELP TOO)

OUTLINE FOR PROJECT • ASSIGN TASKS • DESIGN AS A GROUP • BRAINSTORM IDEAS (SHOULD TAKE ~ 40 MINS) • POSTER (NEEDS TO BE HANDED IN W/ REPORT: ARTIST) • THERE CAN BE MANY DRAFTS BUT 1 FINAL ARTIST POSTER • ESTIMATED # OF MATERIALS:ACCOUNTANT • MANAGER: START BLOG • COME UP WITH GROUP NAME (MANAGER?) • BUILD THE BRIDGE • HAND EVERYTHING IN... • TEST THE BRIDGE

Cost of Materials SCISSORS $10 000/20 MINS PAPER $15 000/ SHEET POPSICLE STICKS $ 2 000/STICK ADD’N TOOTHPICKS $ 1 000/PICK PIPECLEANERS $ 1 000/PIPECLEANER TAPE (CLEAR TAPE) $ 10 000/10 CM TAPE (MASKING TAPE) $20 000/ 5 CM STRING $30 000/ 10 CM RETURNS MUST BE MADE THE SAME CLASS AND CANNOT BE DAMAGED! PROOF OF PURCHASE REQUIRED (ACCOUNTANT SHEET) TAXES MUST BE DONE ON FINAL CHART.

  10. FINAL PROJECT • GO THROUGH EACH PART (report) • SELF-ASSESSMENT AND PEER ASSESSMENT (report) • AT THE END: YOU WILL HAND IN • 4 REPORTS • 1 DETAILED DRAWING • 1 ACCOUNTANT CHART • BLOG AND/OR VIDEO • FINAL BRIDGE MODEL!!! • VIDEO: HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF BY CHOCHAGAK

  11. Blog/video Every manager must blog about their groups daily activities Managers can also create a video of their bridge being built every day (this can be done as creatively as desired; will be submitted to me online) Videos cannot have faces of students in them!! Must only be talking/daily construction of bridge
