CSI Performance on Utilization Measures: What Does the Data Tell Us? CSI had lower inpatient stay rates than the comparison group in every period and is decreasing steadily at .09 admissions per period, according to a linear trend. The comparison group is decreasing by .11 admissions per period. For the CSI practices and for comparison practices, all-cause ED visit rates demonstrate a wave-like pattern over time - showing a poor fit to the trend line - making it difficult to definitively determine CSI’s impact on emergency department utilization In addition to the CSI intervention, a variety of factors, including differences in patient population and geographic location, could help to explain differences in utilization rates between the CSI practices and comparison practices Additional analyses are underway to examine differences in utilization rates between the CSI practices and comparison practices
