AN-MSI Project • Four-year, $6 million grant (ANI-9980537) from the National Science Foundation (NSF) • Includes $1 million subcontract to EOT-PACI (the Education, Outreach, and Training Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure) • Overall Goal: • To assist minority-serving institutions as they improve Internet connectivity, campus networks and their technical support, and advanced use of the networks

  15. Clusters • Linking Clusters of PC’s or Workstations to form a powerful parallel computer is a key affordable and scalable technology • Cluster demonstrations • Cluster workshop in the summer

  16. Nodes in Action: A large display screen shows the various Access Grid nodes participating in the Alliance Chautauqua on Sept. 14. At center, Alliance Director Larry Smarr addresses a live audience at Boston University while participants listen in from Access Grid nodes at University of Utah, University of New Mexico, Argonne National Laboratory, Moscow State University, NCSA, UIC's Electronic Visualization Laboratory and the Alliance Center for Collaboration, Education, Science and Software.
