  5. TYPES OF VERBS • 1. ACTION VERB -Show an action-either physical or mental.

  6. ACTION VERB EXAMPLE: Samantha is playing golf.

  7. TYPES OF VERBS 2. VERB OF BEING - show a state of existence.

  8. VERB OF BEING • Forms of be verb: - is - were - are - has/have - was - had been - will be

  9. VERB OF BEING EXAMPLE: She is a doctor.

  10. TYPES OF VERBS • 3.LINKING VERB - ink a subject with its complement.

  11. LINKING VERB EXAMPLES: - appear - fell - taste - look - smell - sound • The food taste delicious. • She look sick.

  12. LINKING VERB EXAMPLES: - am - be - is - being - are - seems - was - become - were

  13. LINKING VERB • Example: Our teacher is hardworking.

  14. KIND OF VERBS • Transitive Verb • Intransitive Verb • Helping verb or Auxiliary verb

  15. KINDS OF VERBS • Transitive Verb • Requires an object to complete its meaning.

  31. Moods Of Verbs 3. Subjunctive Mood • Occurs in two instances. 1. The sentence indicates a situation contrary to fact.

  32. Example of subjunctive a. If I were you, I would not speak too loudly.

  33. Example of subjunctive b. God save the people
