The FRANZ Arrangement, established in 1992 between France, Australia, and New Zealand, coordinates disaster relief efforts in the South Pacific. Its primary aim is to provide timely assistance following a natural disaster, supporting the host country's response mechanisms, typically managed by the National Disaster Management Office. Recently, swift responses included sending relief supplies and medical teams to Samoa. Concurrently, Australia redirected efforts to support Indonesia following a significant earthquake. Contributions from all three countries emphasize a collaborative approach while respecting local leadership and cultural sensitivities.
