Step 1: Task Definition • What is my problem or topic? • How many parts does the assignment have? • What is required for each part of the assignment? • How will the assignment be graded? • Rewrite the assignment in your own words.
Step 2: Information Seeking Strategies • Brainstorm a list of all possible sources. • Evaluate the different possible sources • Which ones are best for me to use? • Select the best sources
Step 3 Location and Access • Locate sources • Find information within sources by using • The index of a book • Search box on a website • Evaluate sources for ACACO: Authority, Currency, Accuracy, Coverage, and Objectivity
Step 4 Use of information • Read, hear, view, touch • Bookmark webpages • Take notes, make chart, use a tape recorder • Cite sources: Use Easy Bib (www.easybib.com)
