Gas Turbine Engines Technical Committee Update as of: 1/8/2012 Accomplishments / Status Chair: Dr. Ian HalliwellPhone: 330 618-9741 Email: ianhalliwell@earthlink.net • Expanded roster for 2011; 12 new members in January 2011 • Subcommittees fully staffed & roles defined at JPC 2011 • JPC 2011 was successful • ASM 2012 in progress, participation (papers) down somewhat • JPC 2012 planning going very well; 20 sessions planned • New Short Course was delivered at JPC 2011 by Ian Halliwell & Steve Beckel. : “A Practical Introduction to the Design of Air Breathing Engines”. 10 attendees from USA & Turkey • Collaboration with IGTI on Engine Design Competition active; MoU; funding; general strategy; combined AIAA/IGTI Working Group • Honors & Awards SC Chair appointed • Best Paper Award now being monitored; Won-Wook Kim Vice Chair: Dr. James A.
