The NICE Accreditation Programme focuses on applying rigorous processes and criteria to Clinical Decision Support (CDS) content development, improving health and social care guidance since its inception in 2008. The aim is to help professionals identify trustworthy guidance, enhance the quality of information used in decision-making, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. More than 70 organizations have engaged in this initiative, fostering high standards and stakeholder involvement to ensure unbiased and evidence-based content. NICE Accreditation: Why do it? • To help health and social care professionals identify the most trusted sources of guidance developed using critically evaluated high quality processes • To drive up the quality of information used by health and social care professionals in decision making and quality standards • This in turn should ultimately result in improved patient outcomes
NICE Accreditation: Who is it for? • NICE accredits guidance and advice for professionals • Eligibility definition: 'systematically developed statements to guide decisions about appropriate health and social care to improve individual and population health and wellbeing.'
