Embracing Nature: Forest School Activities at Heol-y-Cyw Primary

At Heol-y-Cyw Primary School, our commitment to nurturing the environment and our students continues with various engaging forest school activities. Children have been discovering camouflaged objects, creating crowns from gathered leaves, and building animal dens, like one for Bernie the Bear, using natural materials. They love the outdoors, thriving in a lively forest environment. Additionally, they enjoyed making delicious Fairtrade smoothies and raised community awareness by selling refreshments at an event. Our focus on nature and sustainability fosters creativity and teamwork among students.

  1. Esdgc projects at heol-y-cyw primary school Caring for the willows.

  2. The willow work continues..

  3. One activity the children have done is to find classroom objects camouflaged in the grass..

  4. Here the children are enjoying a Forest School session.

  5. The children love being outdoors in the forest, and thrive in the environment.

  6. The children gathered leaves to make a forest crown.

  7. Using natural materials that they find in the forest the children create a den for different animals. The den below was for Bernie the Bear.

  8. Another activity done in Forest School is tree rubbings.

  9. Here the children are making Fairtrade smoothies….yummy!

  10. The school raise awareness of Fairtrade with the wider community by selling Fairtrade refreshments at an event.
