  1. What a way to end the year! The Willows PTFA NEWSLETTER July 2014 The Willows Summer Fair made a record-breaking £2193.82, more than £600 up on last year. A big “thank you” to all the parents, staff and Year 6 children who helped to make it such a great day. We are also thrilled that we have achieved our fundraising goal which was to buy a minibus; it will be delivered to the school in September. This year, PTFA funds have also provided: pantomime trips, ice creams, Life Education Bus, Easter eggs, musical instruments, leavers’ bears and class Christmas parties. • How did we do it? The PTFA has put on loads of fun events, as well as the Fair, including: • Valentines Ball • Cake sales • Fashion show • May Ball • 2 movie nights • Quiz night Together with Miss Butler, we are now thinking hard about a fundraising goal for next year, and about more events for everyone to enjoy. And if you have ever wondered about helping out at a PTFA event, Summer Fair volunteers can recommend it: “It was good fun helping out at the Willows Summer Fair. Setting up all the stands, refreshments and gazebos is a great way to soak up the atmosphere and it’s lovely seeing everyone having fun once everything is ready.” Jemma “This is the first year I've volunteered to help out on a stall and it was lots of fun. It's great to meet the kids and other parents and help support the school in the process.”Helen The PTFA raises money to give children at the Willows extra opportunities and experiences. If you would like to get involved next year, come along to one of the open meetings; everyone is welcome.
