The Chronicles are very positive. • Example: 2 Chronicles presents the encouraging side of King Solomon politically, economically, and spiritually! • Example: 2 Kings 21:1-18 does not tell us of Manasseh’s repentance and prayer, whereas 2 Chronicles 33:1-20 does.

  3. Revival • Create a definition of revival and share it with the rest of us.

  4. Definition of Revival “If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14 • Examples: • 2 Chronicles 11-12, 15 (?), 20, 23-24 (?), 29-31, 34-35 • Kings Rehoboam, Asa (?), Jehoshaphat, Joash (?), Hezekiah, and Josiah

  6. 2 Chronicles 20:1-32(details found here; summary found in 1 Kings 22:45) The Faith of Jehoshaphat • “Leave it there.” Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. Music and lyrics by Charles Albert Tindley 1916

  7. If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold,And you have to get along with meager fare,Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. • If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,And your soul is almost sinking in despair,Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. • When your enemies assail and your heart begins to fail,Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer; He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through.Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Stackhouse, Jr. in CT 2-09” • Volume does not compensate for mediocrity. • On occasion volume will add appropriate and tasteful energy to a room. • Don’t hammer on your audience. • Try very hard to include all the congregants. • “Musicians-every one of them, including the singers-are accompanists to the congregation’s praise.”
