  1. After your quiz… Get out your satirical cartoon. Answer the four questions on page 8 of your packet.

  3. Round 1 • Get with your group and write your group member’s names in round one slot • Decide amongst yourselves who will be 1, who will be 2, who will be 3, and who will be 4 and write the numbers next to each name.

  4. Round 2 • Group member # 1 • Share your cartoon and analysis. Be specific and really show what you thought about it. • Group: critique group member 1’s analysis • point out new things— • connect it to something (your cartoon, history, the stories we’ve read etc.) • Group member 1: record their observations in round 2 slot

  8. Round 3 • Decide which cartoon is the most effective in your group, describe it and why. • YOU MUST COME TO A CONSENSUS. • Make sure you explain why it is the most effective

  9. Round 4 • Turn to page 8 of your packet—complete the political carton counter view point—use your group to help you but make sure you do this for YOUR political cartoon

  10. Round 5 • Complete page 9 by reading the letter from Swift to Pope. • Misanthropy: Hatred or distrust of mankind • Discuss with your group and write your answer down

  11. Round 6 • Complete the political cartoon that reflects Swifts point of view on page 8 keeping in mind your answer about misanthropy etc.

  12. Turn it in • Staple your cartoon to your packet but turn your round sheet in.
