  3. Proposed Restructuring • Roundtables • Workshops • Exit interviews • Data Collection • Mentoring • Eminent Scholar Award • Childcare Network • Technology • Planning • Steering Committee members leading a defined Program with action-oriented Working Groups

  4. Roundtables • Aim: Create a setting where women faculty can receive information (similar to Midday Networking Sessions), but with more depth and an individualized manner, as well as providing an opportunity to network with a senior faculty member or expert and other women faculty with a common interest • Led by Kathy Magruder & Tammy Nowling • Would need a Roundtables Working Group

  5. Workshops • Aim: Provide training on specific topics to women faculty • Half-day and full-day workshops held 1-2 times per year • Led by Samar Hammad

  6. Exit Interviews • Aim: Gather data/trends on women faculty leaving MUSC • Led by Sheila Smith & Amy Bradshaw • Would need an Exit Interviews Working Group

  7. Data Collection • Aim: Collect and analyze data on career advancement of MUSC women faculty • Provost’s Faculty Database • Collect appointment, promotion & tenure data • Led by Joan Cunningham • Would need a Data Collection Working Group

  8. Mentoring • Aim: • (a) Provide an MUSC Women Scholars liaison for other University programs that endeavor to identify and train mentors (to be better mentors) and/or train mentees (on how to get mentoring) • (b) Facilitate individualized sessions for mentoring on tenure and promotion planning • Mentoring Liaisons Lisa Cunningham & Ann Ramsdell • Mentoring Match Sessions led by Lisa Cunningham

  9. Eminent Scholar Award • Aim: Recognize a prominent, nationally- and internationally-known woman scholar, bringing the scholar to campus to (a) expose MUSC women faculty to role models & (b) increase the exposure of MUSC male faculty to exceptional women scholars • Led by Barb Rohrer

  10. Childcare Network • Aim: Connect MUSC faculty, staff, and students who are searching for childcare in the tri-county area • www.musc.edu/childcare/ • Would need a Steering Committee member to lead

  11. Technology • Aim: Provide a quality resource for MUSC women faculty to quickly locate pertinent information • Led by Mary Mauldin
