  4. Mountains and Basins • mountain ranges, flat desert basins, Guadalupe Mountains, Guadalupe Peak, dry desert, cacti, mesquite

  5. Coastal Plains • 1000 feet above sea level, rich prairie, cattle industry, fruit and vegetable crops, Piney Woods, Post Oak Belt, Eastern Cross Timbers, Balcones Escarpment, extends to Gulf of Mexico, BORDERS-Rio Grande south, Louisiana east, Red River north
