  2. What is GNMS? GNMS is a tabletop, multi-touch, computing surface to be designed by some kids. It is similar in functionality to the Microsoft Surface, but not at all a rip-off!

  3. Design Constraints • The surface will need to: • Compute application data •                       Processor • Handle extraneous controls and peripherals • Micro-processor • Display visualizations   • Projector • Capture human touches • Video camera

  4. ProcessorIntel Atom D525 • Software application processor  • Human touch capture input from the video camera via USB • Visualization display output to the projector via VGA • Audio output via 2.5mm connector

  5. Micro-controllerAtmel AT32UC3B164 • User input for projector brightness, On/Off, audio volume via GPIOs. • Transmits user input to the motherboard via USB. • Controls a response LED and fan speeds via PWMs. • Input from external temperature sensor via ATD to determine fan speed.

  6. Power Supply UnitRaidMax RK-380K • 3.3V from a SATA power plug will power the micro-controller • 5V from the 4-pin Molex will power the IR LEDs • Normal 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connectors to power the motherboard devices (CPU, CPU fan, RAM, etc.)
