Advancing Fire Service Research: Enhancing Education, Policy, and Practice

The fire service is in dire need of research at all educational levels, from associate degrees to doctoral studies. This initiative emphasizes the importance of investigating pressing fire issues, including response times, risk behaviors, and the impact of diversity within the profession. With a call to establish a refereed journal for fire service research and funding for visiting professorships, we aim to support rigorous academic inquiry into fire safety education, policies, and legal challenges. By encouraging doctoral students to explore fire service research topics, we can significantly improve the industry's knowledge base and professional practices.
