Collaboration • It is difficult to finalize Mton detector system (incl. readout system) at present. • Compromise over performance and cost Development of components (which will be adopted for Water Cherencov) Exchange information of R&D Discussion of Mton detector system (This can be done as we have done) Next slide TV conference etc

R&D - Development of components- Photocathode Scint PMT Qdet > 106 Qdet ~ 105 This combination Development and evaluation of ASICs with HPD This R&D has been done in France This R&D has been done in Japan Multichannel FE ASIC, close to the PMTs Low noise amp ASIC as FE Waveform sampler ASIC as BE

Benefits which can be gained from FJPPL • For both sides • Save manpower for ASIC development • Cross measurements decrease bugs • For Japanese-side • Access new technologies (AMS 0.35um process) with low risk • For French-side • Know-how of construction of large water Cherencov detector through discussion

  6. Plan and status • Evaluation of FE-ASIC(MAROC2) with HPD in Japan. • Tested at LAL • Received on April • ASIC design based on the result.(FY2007 fall) • Done by us (collaboration between F-J) Applicable ASIC for Not only HPD but also multi-pixel HPD
