MISSION STATEMENT • The member districts and the CAIU will increase and extend learner options by leveraging our wide area network and collaborating to develop and implement digital content, thereby effectively utilizing the latest technologies and research-based instructional strategies to create a 21st Century learning environment.

  5. PROJECT GOALS • Increase student engagement and achievement • Aggregate and share resources and expertise • Achieve cost savings for districts • Create a 21st Century learning environment. Improve individual access, online learning skills and Web 2.0 teaching skills • Create conditions for future digital initiatives

  6. PROJECT OBJECTIVES • Complete the building-to-building WAN connections • Connect new members to WAN • Pilot and evaluate use of digital textbooks • Provide professional development to improve Web 2.0 teaching skills • Institute a process to ensure the development and sharing of quality resources • Evaluate the actual cost savings for districts • Evaluate the actual improvement in student achievement and 21st Century skills • Enlist partners to improve individual access • Establish partnerships, infrastructure and process that fosters future digital initiatives

  7. ITEMS TO CONSIDER • Develop requirements for desired solution (both content and equipment) • Evaluation Criteria: How do we evaluate the various vendor solutions? Current and future hardware costs? Common Core or PA Standards? • Develop a budget: Evolve over time & depend on above items • Professional Development: Teacher skills? Timeline? Who develops and delivers it? • Pilot Subjects: What subjects? Timeline to specify. • Course Development: Share duties? Use LFS, NETS, Partnership for 21st Century Skills as framework and terminology?
