1. Rising Action • Yogi, Yash, Sunjo, and Peak enter the death zone. • Zopa becomes sick but forces Yogi, Yash, Sunjo, and & Peak to go on to Camp 6. • Peak makes multiple attempts to oxygenate his blood. During this time, Zopa& Josh are hiding Sunjo from Capt. Shek & the Chinese police. • Zopa drives Peak away from ABC & gives Peak a letter from Josh. It explains this is all a trick, and Zopa will lead Peak to the top. • Peak wakes up and finds that the people paying for the trip are having a secret meeting to decide if they should let Peak climb with them. • Peak calls his mother, she explains he must be selfish if he wants to make it to the summit. • Holly, the reporter from New York covering Peak’s attempt to climb Everest, reveals that Zopa is Sun jo’s grandfather. • Sun jo gets sick at Base Camp, and Peak takes care of him. • Zopa takes Sun jo and Peak to Base Camp. • At the hotel in Kathmandu Peak meets Sun jo who introduces him to Zopa, a Buddhist monk. • During the first flight to Thailand, Josh reveals to Peak that they will not be going to Chang Mail. Instead, they will go to Kathmandu to attempt to summit Everest. • When Peak goes to court, his biological father, Joshua Wood, comes and offers to take Peak back to live with him in Thailand. Plot Diagram Climax: Peak allows Sunjo to sumit Mt. Everest. He understands how important it is for Sunjo’s future and family. • Falling Action • Peak flies home in time for the twin’s birthday. • Peak and his twin sisters read a news article about Sunjo. The “two Peas” notice the simlarity in Peak’s tag and the prayer flag. • Peak finishes his second Moleskin for Vincent, his literary mentor. Resolution: Peak now understand that Mt. Everest is only a great view. What really matters is down below. Initial Conflict: Peak scales the Woolworth Building in New York to tag his blue mountains on them. He is spotted and arrested for climbing and vandalizing the skyscraper.
