  13. General Challenges • Commercial • The ability to launch the NPL this year • Additional income streams and support from both corporate SAand Government • Slickness and improvement on running and managing our major events • Administration • Lack of key full-time staffing positions within NSA, mainly key positions such as operations and finance • Still far away from being a fully fledged professionally run Federation • Improvement of planning and being able to stick to stringent budgets • Improvement of communications and PR to stakeholders • Proper Participation Agreements and Tendering processes for hosting major NSA Events • Lack of core capabilities on LOC’s being able to host major events to the level we all wish to meet • National Teams • Lack of additional funding and resources • Over budgeting as a result of poor planning

  14. Way Forward

  15. Keeping Focused on Our Vision! • World Class Federation (Win off the field) • We have to adopt a more professional style of managing our federation as a business • Increase our full-time staff capabilities but seek the best people to do the job • Adopt a whole new way of how we do business and present ourselves, going as far a new identity! • Finances (Make Money) • We have seen over 200 national and international companies and brands this past year. We have to continue doing so as the market has shown interest and it’s a matter of time until some major deals are concluded. • The above, however, depends largely on how we manage ourselves and our business so as to create a strong perception that netball is a good alternative investment opportunity. • National Teams (Win on the field) • Set realistic targets for being consistently in the top 3 rankings in the world, in all age groups • To achieve this we need a consistent season with strong local competitions such as the NPL • Comprehensive season structure to allow for proper planning, 2 to 3 years in advance. • Improve on our High performance programmes, resources and talent identification initiatives • Pitch for 2019 World Cup and use this as a key end result target in achieving all key milestones. • Grow and Develop • Expose Netball as much as we can to the market with the live television platform available • Ensure our Regions and stakeholders follow the same goals and targets as NSA • Continue with the coaching of coaches and umpires at all levels to ensure the growth and development of our sport • Build netball heroes and our national team so as to allow for young aspiring players to want to do the same
