General Information • What is the Honors and Awards page • New functionality in M-Pathways to track internal and external honors and awards for faculty and staff • Several components to Honors and Awards: Administrative Features: Setting up the Honor and Award Attaching the Honor and Award to the Employee Reporting Viewing Honors and Awards: Employee Self Service Manager Desktop/Admin Desktop

Type of Honors and Awards • Internal to a department • Internal honors/awards can be associated to a department, such as MAIS Spirit of Excellence. • Internal to the University • Internal honors/awards can be associated to the University of Michigan, such as the Candice J. Johnson Staff Award for Excellence. • External • External awards exist if an honor/award has no affiliation to the University, such as CUPA – HR Award.

Setting up Honors and Awards • Navigation: Workforce Administration – UM Setup Tables – HR Honors and Awards Table • Naming standard for Honor/Award code • Internal to department – first four letters will be your department description and the last four letters the Honor and Award description • Internal to University of Michigan – first two letters will be UM and the last six letters will be the description of the Honor and Award • External to the University – first three letters will XUM and the last five will be the description of the Honor and Award

Attaching Honors and Awards to Employees • Navigation: Workforce Administration – Job Information – Faculty and Staff Honor/Awards • The HR Honors and Awards page is used to apply an honor/award to a faculty or staff member. Information such as date received, amount, and requestor are entered on the page. • An honor/award is associated to an individual. Multiple honors/awards can be given to a faculty or staff member.

  7. Reporting capabilities • Navigation: Workforce Administration – Job Information – HR Honors/Awards Data Selection • The Honors and Awards Data Selection page is used to capture faculty and staff honors/awards information during a specific time period. Data is displayed in a grid format and can be downloaded to Microsoft Excel. • To perform an initial search, enter honor/award date received criteria and one of the following: Appointing DeptID, Campus ID or Org Group. Honor/Award code is not required.
