  2. Resolution #1 That the DoT provide regular feedback to RPF on the status of dedicated funding for the road sector and the impact of structural changes within the Department

  3. Resolution #2 That Sabita, SARF and other Organisations continue to assist SALGA in capacity building initiatives at Local Government level

  4. Resolution #3 That the DoT be apprised of the importance of up-to-date Transport Statistics within the framework developed by the International Road Federation to reflect on Logistics, Public Transport and Electrical availability for Traction (possibly coordinated through CapCoR)

  5. Resolution #4 The RPF strongly supports the promotion of improved capacity for teaching Engineering and Science disciplines at Tertiary Institutions and urges Government to adequately fund faculties to appoint suitably qualified personnel. In addition, theses faculties of National importance must be exempt from growth restrictions imposed on tertiary institutions, especially Universities.

  6. Resolution #5 The RPF sponsors will continue to investigate formal structures to engage with Government on issues of concern related to the road sector

  7. Resolution #6 The RPF sponsors are requested to investigate the attendance of the RPF to ensure that it is fully representative of the road pavements sector.

  8. Resolution #7 The RPF endorses: • The revised specifications for cutback bitumen in SANS 308 • The revision of the penetration grade ranges and viscosity requirements in SANS 307 bearing in mind the comments related to wider ranges and the inclusion of a specification of High Modulus Asphalt binders • The reconvening of the working groups on emulsions and modified binders to review the current requirements

  9. Resolution #8 ASPASA will continue to engage with the asphalt industry to resolve the problem of moisture in aggregates
