  2. Pledge of Allegiance • I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

  3. Our American Flag • The flag is red, white and blue. • The13 red and white stripes are for the 13 original colonies. • There are 50 stars to stand for the 50 states. The picture is taken from the American Memory Collection.

  4. The Original Flag • The original flag had 13 white stars on a blue background. • It had 13 red and white stripes. The picture is taken from the American Memory Collection.

  5. The Statue of Liberty • She was given to us by the Country France. • She is a symbol of freedom and hope. • She is located in New York Harbor. Picture is taken from the American Memory Collection

  6. The Liberty Bell • The Bell first rang July 8, 1776 in Independence Hall to proclaim the U.S. freedom from England. • It is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. • It cracked in 1835. The picture is taken from the American Memory Collection.

  7. The Bald Eagle • The bald eagle stands for courage and freedom. • It has been a U.S. symbol for over 200 years. • It is not really bald but has white feathers on its head and neck.
