  2. The reproduction of mute swans • The mating of mute swans is started in March and April That is when you have to keep aneye out for these beautiful animals. The mute swans nest near the water. They nest there because it is a great place to get food and go for a swim. The female mute swans contain five to eight greenish-white eggs. The pen (female) lays on one egg every 48 hours. The eggs hatch after 34 to 38 days. And then you get to see the little chicks. Some of the birds mate for life and some of them don’t

  3. Mute swans have all-white plumage (feathering). The mute swans have black faces and they have a very orange beak too. These swans molt there plumage every year and then it comes back the next year (winter). The swans can eat up to 10 pounds of plants, roots, grass, herbs. They feed by tipping there head into the water and there tail feathers flip up. The body of a mute swan

  4. In Britain and Hollywood they have seen 20,000. In Russia and Siberia they have seen a number of mute swans. Some scientists have estimated to the thousands and hundreds of these birds they have a big population Recently in Japan they have seen mute swans. Some of the swans look a lot like the mute swans. (some of the numbers at the top may not be true they may have seen swans but not just mute swans) What is the world population of a mute swan.

  5. Adult swans have a range of 125 to 170 cm. They have a 200-240 wingspan. Swans are one of the heaviest flying birds. Females weigh more then 9 kg. Males weigh more then 12 kg. Both females and males are very large birds. Mute swans appearance
