  2. World Trade Organization (WTO) • Formerly known as the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). • Its members agree to ongoing negotiations and to reducing tariffs and trade restrictions. • WTO also contributes to world peace by allowing disputes to be handled constructively.

  3. World Economic Forum • Independent, not-for-profit foundation formed in 1971. • It is committed to raising the level of corporate citizenship in its member countries. • It works to define key international issues • Some of these issues include: • Development and investment in Africa, the global health initiative and debt relief in African nations.

  4. Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development • Consists of developed and developing nations that help formulate social, economic, trade, development, education and scientific policies. • It allows governments to discuss and develop economic policy. • Another aim is to cut down on bribery and corruption in world markets. • It is financed by member countries according to the weight or size or the economy.

  5. World Bank Group • Largest source of development assistance, providing nearly $16 billion USD in loans. • Uses resources to help developing countries onto a path of stable, sustainable growth in the fight against poverty. • It supports countries with financial assistance and partnerships.

  6. International Chamber Of Commerce • World business organization promoting open international trade and investment. • Trade is a powerful force for peace and prosperity. • Established in 1919. • Govern the conduct of businesses across borders including shipping and transactions. • Acceptance of rules are voluntary.

  7. International Monetary Fund • Focus is on international monetary cooperation and stability in foreign exchange. • IMF has 182 member countries. • Provides temporary financial assistance to countries to help ease economic difficulties.
