It was believed that on which the haystack would be anew, that culture and is born better than all others. Girls also loved to enmity, but to their own destiny. Most often used the same divination, as for Andrew or Catherine. An interesting fact is that earlier in the Ukrainians the symbol of the New Year was not a fir tree, but didukh. The gentry was a haymade, decorated with ribbons, wreaths, flowers. This symbol was put in the house on the fallen table.

In some areas, for example, in Wales, exactly at midnight, with the first blow of the clock, it is decided to open the door open to release the Old Year and let New. When the clock hits 12, the door closes.

  5. New Year people give each other leaflets and gifts. Young people prefer to celebrate the New Year's fun, they go to New Year's parties. Many people gather in the squares of Piccadilly or Trafalgar. Santa Claus comes to Santa's new year, he is dressed in a red jacket with white fur and red trousers, with a red cap on his head. An important day for the British is the first day of the year. Happiness and wealth at home depends on the first visitor. The family is waiting for happiness if the first man comes to the house with a piece of coal and branches of pine trees in his hands. Rich and happy visitor will bring success to the house, poor and evil - misfortune. On the first day of the new year, nothing can be done from home. The landlord on this day does not even carry the garbage from the house.

  6. Valentine's Day in Ukraine Every year on February 14, young people with a couple give their halos a variety of gifts: • "valentines" - symbolic cards in the form of hearts that contain confessions in love, most often in a poetic form; • Sweets, made in the same "heart" shape or depicting Cupid's figures - the god of love; • soft toys and souvenirs.   It is obvious that the main symbols of the festival should be performed in bright red and pink tones - colors that mean passion and flame of feelings

  7. Valentine's Day in the UK In Britain it is accepted to give women red roses (however, apparently, not only in Britain). Interestingly, in response you can get an apple as a symbol of love and beauty. But the most cheerful thing that the British do this day - send valentines to their pets, especially if it's a horse or a dog (well, they love them very much), but also buy a special kind of food in the form of hearts. Well, it may be difficult for us to understand this attitude towards our smaller friends, but agree, it's pretty cute. Interestingly, just as animals read confessions in love from the masters :). Unmarried Britons loved to steal. Here's one way: early on the morning of February 14, they stood at the window and looked at the empty street. The first man the woman saw was supposed to be similar to her future bridegroom.
