  3. Importance • Most of our time is spent working on problems that are communication related. • Clients should be trained to be specific about the nature or their problem.

  4. Cont. • Improve the effectiveness of meetings. • Improve inter department info communication process. • Improve the quality of info. • Prevent conflicts. • Eradicate distrust between employees. • Ensure that employees are up-to-date.

  5. Cont. • Encourage them to be open and expressive. • Teach them how to confront difficulties. • Ensure that people in business feel listened to.

  6. Cont. • Important!!!!! • Don’t let your employees get away with vague description of the problem,ask them to quantify the nature of the problem.

  7. All people are important • Being better at communication isnt only for the managers. • Employees at all the levels should be equally good at expressing. • Ensure as a trainer that all the employees get the necessary training.

  8. implications • In an organization people need to be aware of the decisions that effect them. • People also need to get the info in timely manner to make decisions.

  9. Getting TQM started.. • What TQM is about? • How it affects them? • What the vision is?

  10. …Additionally • People need to know : • The direction of business. • Decisions being made. • Reasons behined those decisions.

  11. On going process.. • Better communication is an ongoing process and needs to be re-enforced. • Success in business demands innovation. • Ideas should be listened to and should encouraged. • Listening skills also matter.
