Through faith in God, we are confident of our future and eagerly anticipate the day when we will see the Lord and stand before His judgment seat. Today’s Message “From Here To Eternity”Part Two A. Salvation Begins With Faith – Part One B. Salvation Ends With Sight – Part Two We will see our glorified bodies We will see the Lord and the Judgment Seat
We will see our glorified bodiesFor we know that if our earthly house of this tent were taken down, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. II Cor. 5:1 ? • We may get our new bodies while we are alive I Thess. 4: 15-17 • Our present bodies are earthly • Our future bodies will be handmade by God • Our future bodies will be eternal
Every Christian has a strong desire for their new body. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.V 3 • Every Christian’s old body becomes burdened • For we that are in this tent do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. V.4
The new body program originated with God Now He that has accomplished this for us is God, Who also has given to us a down payment of His Spirit. V.5 This down payment gives a holy confidence and earnest desire Therefore [we are] always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: For we walk by faith, not by sight:We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Vrs. 6-8
The down payment produces a healthy impetus Because of this we labor, so that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. V. 9
We will see the Lord and The Bema SeatFor we must all appear [in person] before the judgment seat o f Christ; that every one may receive the things due done in [his /her body], according to what [he/she] has done, whether it be good or bad. v.10 We stand before Christ in our new bodies We are judged for the deeds of the old body The judgment will be for reward and honor The judgment will be executed by the Holy Spirit
