Implementing a new emittance measurement algorithm, utilizing stacking time to switch between old and new code, comparing old and new results on the same data. Labview code testing underway, with TCPort issues being addressed by Deb Baddorf.

MI SBD Status • Realized that a non-equilibrium bunch will not result in the same emittance measurement all the time • Average (say 8) samples evenly spaced over a synchrotron period E E Phase Space t t Time Projection t t R. Thurman-Keup - SDA/Inst Mtg
MI SBD Status • Changes the planned commissioning method • Now the data acquisition must change as well as the analysis • New code will have the option of using either the old or new emittance algorithm • Maybe use stacking time to alternately switch between old code and new code running old algorithm • The new code will still give a different answer than the old code since it is averaging over 8 samples • Run just the new code and compare old algorithm to new algorithm • Probably a better approach since both algorithms will be running on the same ‘raw’ data • Need to verify that the acquisition averaging etc… is working R. MI SBD Status • Labview code is coded(I think?) • Will start testing today/tomorrow/… • Can I use stacking/numi/xBoone cycles • Does anyone need SBD measurements during those cycles? R. Thurman-Keup - SDA/Inst Mtg
Synclite and TEV SBD • No changes • TCPort has been having difficulty • Deb Baddorf is working on it • Affects many(?) devices (FW, SBDs, BLTs, SL) • There is an alarm now on SL and TEV SBD if the TCPort list stops updating R. Thurman-Keup - SDA/Inst Mtg
