Building an Effective Team for OMK: Reflections and Future Steps

In this journal entry, I reflect on my recent experiences with the OMK initiative and the new insights I've gained. I'm excited to be part of my state team and have seen a shift in my understanding of OMK. I have identified key partners and learned important aspects of military culture and the deployment cycle that will aid our implementation efforts. Additionally, I share my pluses and wishes for our team dynamics and strategize on inclusion of relevant stakeholders, prioritization of issues, communication methods, and fostering connections at all levels.

(next meeting? methods?) • Who is your “Chain of Command”? • How will you brief others in your organization on OMK (dates, times, content, etc.) • How will your state team connect with organizations/agencies/people at regional and local levels to build capacity and deliver support programs? • How can you actively foster these connections?
