  1. How Will Alternative Energy Effect Global Warming? Jonathan Armstead CMP 230 Information. Literacy August 3, 2008

  2. Introduction: • More recently, as the prices of traditional energy resources such as gas and coal continue to climb these energy sources are becoming more economically competitive with traditional energy sources.

  3. Renewable energy is generated through natural resources. Renewable energies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity. Renewable energy is derived from natural processes that are replenished constantly. In its various forms, it derives directly from the sun, or from heat generated deep within the earth. Included in the definition is electricity and heat generated solar, wind, and ocean are renewable resources.

  4. The Financial cost of Renewable energy • The financial cost of renewable energy is far less than moderate. The process through which we purify water will continue to produce water that is not only suitable for human consumption but for alternative uses as well. The less oil we would use as a result of not relaying so heavily on oil will dramatically lessen the effect of smog in the air which is believed to add to global warming. There will be less money used spent by the government to regulate such pollution.the purification process will become increasingly better as technologies meet the demand of the world for alternative energies.

  5. The effect on Global Warming • As a result of using alternative energy we will have a healthier enviornment. The ecosystem or community of organisms together with their physical environment, viewed as a system of interacting and interdependent relationships, such as birds, will be able to live without the harmful effects of chemicals. Less harmful chemicals in the air will mean a greater chance of eventually reversing the process of global warming.

  6. Conclusion: • Sunlight passes easily through the earth's atmosphere. Once it strikes and warms the earth's surface, longwave radiation is given off and goes back into the atmosphere. While some of this long wave radiation or heat escapes into space, most of it is absorbed or held by carbon dioxide and other gases that exist in small quantities in the atmosphere, making these gases form a `blanket' that keeps the earth an average of 33 degrees centigrade warmer than it would be if this greenhouse effect did not occur. Without these gases the whole planet would be an icy wasteland with an average temperature of 16 degrees centigrade below freezing. Global warming will be drastically reduced by the continued use of alternative energy. The lasting affects will be felt and appreciated by generations to come.
