Writer’s Workshop • Mini-lesson each day with active student involvement • Conferencing will be used to help individual students develop stronger writing skills • Students will be introduced to and compose a variety of writing such as personal narratives, poetry, All About Books (nonfiction), realistic fiction, persuasive essay, memoirs, business and friendly letters.

Parent Volunteers • All parent volunteers must register each year to become a volunteer • Parents may not volunteer in the classroom until they have registered in the Computer Lab • Parents should check in at the office. • Parent volunteers are needed for our field trips, copying, cutting out laminated materials, working with small groups, helping out with special classroom projects • Please coordinate your volunteer time with your child’s teacher. • In order to chaperone a field trip, you must be registered as a level 3/4 volunteer status.
